Who is responsible for the upkeep of this BLOG!!! hahaha!
Since our last post, what has taken place (besides the sheer excitement we exude each day knowing what is looming ahead of us??) Let's see, to celebrate turkey and exercise, Kelly and I RACED the Noodleini 15K on November 29th. We really laced up our shoes and went out for a 9.3 mile trot, plus another 12 minutes, which in our world., is basically 12 miles. Work with us on that one. FYI - Kelly beat me in the Noodleini by a MILI-SECOND. She is always trying to win - so competitive. But our finishline photo was featured on the Midwest Sports Events homepage. We looked fabulous - barf.
A necessity of IM training is a Las Vegas adventure (I was just there in spirit). However, it wasn't the actual Las Vegas Marathon and Half Marathon that kicked training into high gear, it was the Cher concert that was attended (complete with Cher mints - hopefully those are everlasting - like the Gobstopper.) Congrats Kelly and Sean on the race!
Random indoor exercising has continued but the real celebration comes in the form of Mexican cuisine - most importantly the margaritas, guacamole, christmas presents (that Kelly made me give back to her), after dinner nutty crunchy shot and shots of tequila to make us more sexy and beautiful than we are now. Suckers.
Although, in our true form, we didn't take a picture of the commemorative calendars we have (Robert Pattinson & Audrey Hepburn) to keep track of our IM Training, we did get some activities PENCILED in. Our training is completely flexible - as are we.
We cruised past January, February and March and got into the meat of the training to include a couple 5K's, a sprint triathlon and a handful of Madison course rides. Training complete - bring on the beast.
But, Kelly really took hold of her responsibilities and got a 2 hour spin class scheduled with our spin-master, Don, for January 15th.
Maybe after that date we'll plan some more adventures. Maybe not. We are elite athletes and don't require too much training.
With that, my friends, all I have to say is "Swim Bike Run."
